What type of articles are you looking for?

For the Spring 2006 Issue we are looking for

  • projects (knitted, crocheted, woven etc.) for using spindle spun yarn.
  • Submissions for the gallery of either spindle spun yarns or completed projects from spindle spun yarn
  • Articles on use of spindles in other cultures or how to use a spindle which is indigenous to another culture, i.e. Russian lace spindle or Turkish spindle etc.
  • Historical articles
  • Other spindle related articles… you propose it, we're probably interested in it!

What do you pay for submissions?
At this time, Spindlicity cannot pay for submissions. When available, we will try to reward our writers with complimentary fiber or spindles, however there is no guarantee. You are mostly rewarded by seeing your name glowing in electrons across the internet!

How do you select what gets published?
Articles must be well written and well researched. Spindlicity reserves the right to edit any article published in the magazine. Articles are mostly chosen based on how interesting the editor thinks they will be to readers of Spindlicity, how related they are to spindles and hand spindling, and space in the issue.

How do I submit an article?
Email us at with an idea or a finished article.

Do I need to take my own photos?
In most instances yes. Photos can make or break an article. Although we are not a print magazine, we do want clear, well-lit, interesting photos! Take the best photo you can.

What is the deadline?
The deadline for completed articles for Spring 2006 is Feb 10, 2006

When does the issue publish?
March 1, 2006
