GRAND PRIZE - Scholarship to SOAR 2006! (this prize is sponsored by the Fabulous Fiber Fest and is not part of Spin-Off's own SOAR scholarship process)
Contest Rules:
All entries must be at least 75% spindle spun yarn (on a handspindle)
Any style of shawl or stole is acceptable
Any method of construction is acceptable.
All entries must be handmade by the contestant
Finalists will be displayed at The Fabulous Fiber Fest in Santa Monica
To enter, email a photo of your finished shawl to any time between March 10 and April 10, 2006. Finalists will be notified by email and instructed to send the actual garment to Spindlicity. Finalist shawls will be returned after the Fabulous Fiber Fest. If you have any questions please email us... Good luck and good spinning!
Deadline for entries: April 10, 2006, winners announced in the June 1st issue of Spindlicity. Finalists must ship garment to Spindlicity for final judging by a panel of experts.
Spring Issue - Handspun Gallery Sock Contest! we are looking for socks with a spring theme... prizes will be awarded to the top winners in each category - All socks entered will be displayed as space permits. The categories are:
best socks from spindle-spun
best socks from wheel-spun
most whimsical
best interpretation of theme
best use of color
The deadline to enter your socks in our handspun gallery theme contest is February 10, 2006. All socks must be made from handspun yarn (either wheel or spindle) and must be handmade by the contestant.
Remember, photography matters! Please take the best photograph you can so that we can best judge your socks. You may enter twice (2 pair of socks), up to 3 photographs per pair.
