Getting Started Crochet
By Judith L. Swartz

Have you been wanting to learn to crochet? This book is a lovely beginner's book that starts you off from the very beginning with how to choose a crochet hook, then progresses through the different stitches. The text is clearly written and the illustrations are very easy to follow. There is a nice section of projects that also progresses from simple projects like a scarf to more complex projects like purses, and on to a crocheted stuffed cat. Covers back and forth crochet, straight crochet and motifs. The only thing missing from this book is a section on reading from charts. Overall, a really nice and clear book on beginning crochet.
