Here's a welcome book idea for spindle spinners.... Leigh Radford's "One Skein: 30 quick projects to knit and crochet." This book is full of fun small projects to use up that one skein. As spinners we often have 4 oz of a roving here and 2 oz there... so small projects are a great way to use these yarns. Some of the patterns I would not be tempted to try, I don't really wear legwarmers or need detached sleeves, but the majority of the patterns are enticing and some are downright whimsical. The projects are an eclectic mix from the usual gloves, footies, scarves and caps to the elegant felted clutch, the fabulously funky pompom scarf, and the scrumptiously silly knitted cupcakes. I've already cast on for the very cute stash handbag, and I have some Blue Faced Leicester fleece begging to become a felted bowl. One Skein features a nice mix of knitting and crochet, and a few patterns have added techniques like felting and pompoms. The directions are clearly written and the book has lovely pictures that invite you to try out that cute baby hat.... Even if you don't have a baby!
