Gentle Readers (I always wanted to say that), Spring always makes me think of new beginnings, and this issue marks a few new beginnings for us here at Spindlicity! We would like to introduce our two new editorial staff members; Kathy Hinckley, and Kimley Maretzo. Kathy is our patterns and review editor and html expert and Kimley is our new website designer and html expert. You may have noticed Spindlicity's new look this issue. That is thanks to Kimley's expert eye, and the smooth operation is courtesy of both Kathy and Kimley. This issue is full of fun spring projects. I just love the tea panties, and the smoke ring is beautiful, and who can resist a jaunty beret! We also have the results of our sock contest for you to enjoy in our reader's gallery. Our winners will be announced later this week -- watch this space! Our featured spindle maker is Jen Merrill, a very talented spindle painter with a background in fine art. Her spindles are definitely eye candy. Our spring roving report comes to us from the Visionary Writer's Retreat in the California desert, and we have an article on spin physics that won't make you dizzy. This issue also marks the inauguration of a new section of our magazine: Kidspin! This is an area for our younger readers to read about spinning and share their spinning stories. We have two articles this issue, from Jeta and Leah, and we hope more of our younger readers will write in and share their spinning with us. We also have an article in the articles section on programs for kids, tweens and teens. Finally, we'd like to remind readers of our upcoming Shawl Contest with the grand prize of a scholarship to SOAR. Check out the contests page for more information. We hope you enjoy reading this spring issue of Spindlicity as much as we enjoyed creating it!
